GET INVOLVED

You Don't Have to Change the World Alone. But You Can Start Right Here.

Behind every statistic about Africa’s education crisis is a child. A real child with a name, a dream, and a future that hangs in the balance. Your decision to act today is what tips that balance.

At Oakheart Africa, we believe that impact doesn’t require perfection. It requires presence. And we’ve made it as easy as possible for you to show up

WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

The truth: Nigeria’s public education is underfunded, understaffed, and under-resourced

Children arrive at school with empty stomachs and leave without the skills they need to survive in the 21st century. Teachers work with outdated materials in crumbling infrastructure. Girls navigate threats to their safety just to sit in a classroom.

This isn’t the fault of the children, It isn’t the fault of the teachers. It is a systemic gap. And closing it requires all of us. Your donation, your time, your network, every contribution matters more than you know, and here are some ways you can help.

THE LOCAL CHAMPION

This Is Our Most Important Ask. And Our Most Exciting Opportunity.

Local Champions are the engine of Oakheart Africa’s growth. They are community members; teachers, youth workers, NYSC corps members, faith leaders, parents, and graduates, who are trained and certified to deliver the BRIDGES programme in their own communities.

They are the reason we can grow without government permission. They are the reason transformation happens in IDP camps, after-school clubs, and courtyards. They are the reason this movement scales. Here’s what becoming a champion entails

Onboarding

Completing the Oakheart facilitator onboarding programme and receiving our Starter Kit which includes the BRIDGES workbooks, facilitator guides, and programme materials

6-week Program & Documentation

Running one six-week BRIDGES cohort in your community (10–30 young people per cohort) and documenting outcomes (one photo, one student quote, one measurable result per session)

Facilitators Community

Joining the Oakheart Local Champion network for ongoing support, peer learning, and certification

No formal teaching degree or institutional affiliation required. What is required is a commitment to showing up, belief in young people, and the willingness to be trained. And here’s what you stand to gain…

Full facilitator training and certification

A growing network of community educators across Nigeria

A recognised credential in youth development facilitation

A pathway to earn through teaching as the programme scales

The kind of impact that stays with you for the rest of your life

Your Support Goes Deep.

Every amount you give does something specific and we are obsessively transparent about how every naira and every dollar is used. Here’s exactly what your contribution does:

THE IMPACT OF YOUR GIFT

  • $10 / ₦13,600 — A Complete Study Pack for One Child : For the cost of a dinner out, you can give a child a school bag, two exercise books, and one BRIDGES workbook, tools that transform them from observer to active learner.

  • $15 / ₦20,500 — School Fees for One Term (Public School): In many public schools, even small fees can be the difference between a child who goes to school and one who doesn’t. Your $15 can keep a child in class for an entire term.

  • $150 / ₦205,000 — A Laptop That Opens a Digital World: A laptop gives a young child direct access to digital education, online learning, and the technology-driven future they deserve to be part of.

  • Your Freewill Gift: There is no amount too big or small. Freewill donations are accepted and will be used to facilitate outreaches, train teachers, fund community programs, and award scholarships to students who would otherwise never receive one.

Become A Volunteer

Oakheart Africa is powered by people who show up. Our volunteers are teachers, creatives, tech professionals, business people, storytellers, coaches. Ordinary people doing extraordinary things in classrooms, communities, and online.

Here’s how you can volunteer with us:

  • Programme Facilitator (In-Person): Deliver BRIDGES sessions in partner schools in Nigeria. No teaching experience required, training provided.

  • Digital Skills Trainer: Run digital literacy workshops for students and teachers who are just discovering what technology can do for them.

  • Mentor & Career Guide: Share your professional journey with young Nigerians who need to see what’s possible. One conversation can reset someone’s entire direction.

  • Curriculum & Content Developer: Help us improve, expand, and contextualise our learning materials. Writers, educators, designers, and researchers all welcomed.

  • Content Creator & Social Advocate: Help us tell our story. Create content, write for us, share our campaigns, and amplify our message to people who need to hear it.

  • Administrative & Operations Support: Behind every great organization is a great team keeping things running. Help us run better.

Remote volunteering is fully supported. You do not need to be in Nigeria to contribute meaningfully.

Partner With Us

We are actively seeking partnerships with organisations, schools, companies, foundations, and government agencies that share our conviction

  • School & Community Hub Partnerships: Bring the BRIDGES framework into your school or hub. We’ll train your facilitators, provide materials, and co-design a programme that fits your community context.

  • Foundation & Grant Partnerships: We are open to grant funding, co-implementation, and joint programme design with foundations committed to education equity, youth development, and community resilience in Nigeria and across Africa

  • Media & Storytelling Partners: Help us document and amplify the story of Africa’s emerging leaders. We welcome media organisations, podcasters, filmmakers, and journalists who want to cover real change.

  • NYSC Partnership: We actively recruit NYSC corps members as community facilitators. If your organisation supports the NYSC system, let’s build a pipeline together.
